4. Categories of personal data collected
b_smart processes image and video data that we receive in the context of video surveillance of b_smart properties.
Storage of this data together with other personal data of the data subject does not take place.
The video surveillance system consists of static cameras in the area of entrances and exits, the check-in area, the corridors, as well as the breakfast/bar areas of the respective buildings. In addition, attention is drawn to the respective video surveillance at a suitable location (camera symbol).
Hereby, movement data is collected and stored.
5. For what purpose do we process your data and on what legal basis?
The processing of movement data serves to ensure appropriate security for us, visitors, and tenant companies, as well as the infrastructure. This serves to reduce or prevent, and to investigate criminal offenses, other serious violations, to enforce house rules, and to protect property.
The processing takes place in our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR) to ensure appropriate security. The legitimate interest of the controller in the processing results in all cases from the fact that the processing purposes outweigh the impairment of the data subject, which is associated with the processing and short-term storage.
6. To whom will your data be transmitted?
Personal data will only be forwarded to the extent necessary within the scope of processing. We are obliged to disclose personal data if this is necessary for compliance with laws, for the purpose of criminal prosecution, or to comply with court orders.
In the operation of video surveillance, we are supported by external processors. Our processors are carefully selected and contractually bound. When cooperating with all partners, we apply appropriate technical and organizational security measures.
The majority of our processors and partners are located within the EU-EEA or Switzerland. Should a transfer of your data to a third country outside the EU-EEA or Switzerland be necessary in exceptional cases, this will generally only take place if an adequate level of data protection exists or if further guarantees can be used to ensure data protection.
7. How long will your data be stored by us?
The video data is generally not stored for longer than 72 hours.
An exception applies in cases where disclosure is necessary for compliance with laws, for the purpose of criminal prosecution, or to comply with court orders, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of another person, including our own property or rights.
